Engine Changes

Hey everyone! I've decided to convert the game to Unity, needless to say it will take a while to fully implement it but stay tuned. The rest of this devlog will detail what you can expect moving forward.

3D Environment and Digestive UI

By switching to Unity, I'm no longer limited to working in 2D, so I've decided to use top-down, 3D isometric environments while keeping 2D character sprites. I'm also aiming to reduce menus by implementing a diegetic UI, meaning the interface exists within the game world itself. For example, instead of navigating through menus, interactions happen directly, clicking a door transfers you to the room behind it, and so on.


2D Art and UI Changes

I’m improving the sprite visuals as I gain a better understanding of my tools and have decided to introduce a new main character to replace the current one.

Gamifying Interactions

To make daily interactions be more well... interactive, I'm adding small minigames.
