Considerations for the future
Growing Free » Devlog
Hey everyone, I've been thinking about it for a while now and I'm considering to move the project from Renpy to Unity.
I would like to know if that's something you would like to see? And if I would go down that path, should I publish it under a new game title?

Hello, I've read your recent dev logs too, seems like you'd feel more comfortable with Unity, so go for it man.
Thanks for sharing your work.
I' dont think it's necessary a new title or a rebranding, but if you wish to try Unity, do it. Like the others said, Unity is more flexible.
I would very much like to see a fmg project on unity, in my memory such games have not yet existed
Bro, its just the engine. If it more easily for you to make game in unity. Why not?
Unity is more flexible. You can realize a lot of things. Fully agreed with comment below.
From Renpy to Unity? Would it still be in a kind of visual novel style like it is now?
I've seen others do that and it seems to work pretty well. Like Out of Touch moved to Unity a while ago and it works pretty well. They're still doing the visual novel style too.
If you find Unity is easier to mess around with compared to Renpy, then I say go ahead and do it. I know Renpy seems to be fairly finicky with what you can and can't get away with. While Unity is way more open.
Renpy is pretty cool, took me 3 days, give or take to learn it enough to mame the current project. You can benefit a lot from it as a 2D artist, but I'm not a 2D artist and I don't have a team. I much prefer to have an editor, 3D capabilities and GUI. Making this game on Renpy was kinda of a meme I took too far.
Additionally idk what direction I'm going for, maybe it wouldn't be a visual novel.
